A Story Of Amazing Fall Colors

After a 70 degree day, a fall storm rolled in.  Then came the high winds, rain, and hot coco temps.  A rain always intensifies fall colors.  Gold, orange and reds are more intense, as if a masterpiece was preserved with high gloss, clear, lacquer.

Such a threatening sky...

...gave way to a beautiful, fall sunset with even more earth color.

And when the last rays of sun for the day, broke through the clouds, the tops of the trees were golden, laquered, and high gloss.

And YES, I found color in the garden todaty.  My next post will share more late October garden.

What Color Is The Earth?

It is generally said that "earth tones" are browns, umber, terra cotta type colors.    Perhaps "they" mean the color of raw soil as earth color?  I think earth tones are all the colors we see in nature, which are mostly  primary colors of red, yellow, blue and green.

My favorite earth colors are the ones found in fall, in Northern Ohio..The colors in my garden this fall are beautiful.

Even though it is the end of October, look what I found in the garden.
